COME, FOLLOW ME — SHARING TIME or FHE / FAMILY STUDY KIT {instant download lesson packet}

MARCH Week 3 {March 9 – 15} Jacob 1 – 4 “Be Reconciled Unto God Through The Atonement of Christ”

PLEASE NOTE: WITH THE CHURCH’S ANNOUNCEMENT THIS WEEK THAT TOMORROW WE WILL NOT BE MEETING AS CONGREGATIONS DUE TO COVID – 19…. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE MOST APPROPRIATE TO SHARE WITH YOU THE COME, FOLLOW ME– LESSON & PRINTABLES FOR THIS WEEK. Perhaps, you could use it for your ‘HOME-CENTERED” STUDY…. during the time you usually spend at church!

IN FAIRNESS TO THOSE WHO ALREADY PURCHASED THE KIT, I am posting the kit MINUS TWO OF IT’S KEY PRINTABLES! Feel free to share and pass this kit with your ward families and friends, and enjoy the wonderful teachings of Jacob as you help your family get “UNSHAKEN” and rooted in CHRIST!

This Sugardoodle Come, Follow Me — Lesson & Printables kit is perfect for Sharing Time leaders, for teachers, and for parents.

In our kits we include content from two manuals so it can be used for PRIMARY and also Come, Follow Me– FAMILY STUDIES – FHE.

Beautiful art, an unforgettable object lesson, and a fun physical activity to help those you lead “ACT UPON” the teachings of Jacob!

In creating our kits, we really try to focus more on the content and overall takeaway from the lesson, than we do on how many things we can pack or cram into the lesson.

Is it “sticky” will they remember it? Is it “engaging” will they participate in it,? Is it “inspired” will they feel it? MOST importantly, does, it help bring the DOCTRINE into their hearts so they can COME, UNTO CHRIST?

MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT THIS KIT. . . Jacob was consecrated to be a priest and teacher of the people by Nephi his brother. He became the prophet and a GREAT leader as he taught the people to BELIEVE in CHRIST, as he INVITED them TO REPENT, and as he DECLARED GOD’S WORDS unto them.

This made me think of how often great church leaders do these very same things today. I thought it would be special then to add to this kit a little appreciation card with the “believe” “invite” and “declare” statements about good leaders and have these words be on the front of the appreciation card – – you can print up one for each member of your bishopric and have all those you lead or parent sign it. A warm plate of cookies would help your messages hit their sweet spots…hearts and tummies!

You can purchase and download this kit at our SUGARdoodleShop on ETSY. Click the link below to go to the shop!

5 INVITATIONS TO PREPARE FOR THE 2020 BICENTENNIAL GENERAL CONFERENCE

Our Prophet has “INVITED” us to do 5 specific things to help us PREPARE for the Bicentennial General Conference in April. When we discovered that most people in our ward did NOT know what President Nelson has requested us to do to get prepared, we went to work and created a way to show them the Prophet’s requests. We decided to print up each of his requests and make them into beautiful invitations. We then printed up stickers to be placed on their accompanying envelope that said, “An Invitation From President Russell M. Nelson” and placed all of his requests inside an envelope, one envelope for each member of our YSA RS and Elder’s Quorum.

Design Your Own Plan for General Conference Study

Next, we held a special Sunday School meeting called “A Kick-Off to the Restoration” – and we passed out these special invites to the class. We read through the invitations as a group and focused on the invitation where the Prophet asked us to “Design Your Own Plan to Get Immersed in the Restoration.” We then passed out a worksheet which we called Design Your Own Plan and we brainstormed on the whiteboard ideas to help them get immersed which they could write on their worksheets.

*As leaders, we observed that when our ward members were in charge of designing their “own plans” and brainstorming ideas, they were more excited about getting prepared than if we had told them what to do to prepare. Our ward loved this special meeting. We heard that several members went and made copies of the invitations to pass out to their friends and family! They also have been coming and telling us on Sundays that they have been accomplishing the goals they made on their planning sheet!

Kit for Bicentennial General Conference Preparation

KIT CONTENTS: This instant download printable kit comes with a lesson, worksheets, thematic prints and the invites that you can use for YOUTH lessons, for FHE, or RS. We love helping you ACT UPON the Invitations of our Prophet!

We loved seeing the faces on our YSA members as they opened their “invitations from the Prophet.” It just made it special and unforgettable! A fun idea would be to have a special “RESTORATION FAMILY DINNER” and to have an invite at each of your place settings so each member of your family gets to open their own invitations and feels “INVITED!”

PS. The invites also make for a beautiful “Ministering gift” to give to those you are assigned to. So perfect as the Restoration is on everyone’s minds!

Download this kit FREE NOW ‘TILL FRIDAY, or if you missed it, you can purchase on Etsy at the SUGARdoodleSHOP starting on Friday!

New Snapchat-like Video App Missionary Families Will Love

Alex Balinski, creator of the popular mission prep YouTube channel “Prepare to Serve,” recently launched an app, that’s like a combination of Snapchat and Wikipedia.

The new app “Lifey”, is a video platform that allows the public to share what they know and things they’ve experienced. So far the Lifey app has crowdsourced and published more than 5,000 informational videos, mostly about missions. But that’s only the beginning. In the next three year, Balinski aims to crowdsource 50,000-100,000 mission videos through the Lifey app. And in the next 30 years he hopes to crowdsource more than 100 million videos to create the world’s largest free video database to help people learn from each others’ experiences.

Balinski’s primary focus for the app so far has been on providing returned missionaries with a platform to share useful tips and experiences about their Latter-day Saint missions, to help prospective missionaries prepare.

Returned missionaries are able to download the app and record short videos, up to 60 seconds long, on approximately 15 topics, including favorite foods, language tips, packing and safety advice. Upon receiving their mission calls, young men and women and their families can watch these videos and learn from returned missionaries’ insights and stories to better prepare them for missionary service.

The Lifey app was created to help individuals in their unique circumstances, find the help they need. It’s a user friendly app that allows users to quickly upload videos or browse thousands of topics in only a few clicks. In five minutes, the user can become more knowledgeable about any of a myriad of topics.

The Lifey app also allows people to share their insights and experiences about what living in their hometown in is like. People thinking of moving to a city can learn about the community from residents. Lifey users can browse city videos on about 17 topics, including local issues, crime, community resources, pros, cons, etc..

Another topic recently launched on the Lifey app is health conditions. People can record videos about their experiences with health conditions, share valuable information, and offer support for other people diagnosed with the same diseases/conditions.

In the future, Balinski plans to expand Lifey to include tens of thousands of video forums to improve people’s access to information, and help them make better life decisions.

If you or someone you know is interested in sharing mission stories on the Lifey app, watch this video:

Primary 2019-Come Follow Me- Free Printables - Binder Covers

Yes, I know. Binders are out. Digital is in. But guess what? I’m a binder gal. And I’m guessing some of you are too. So if any of you or your teachers are kindred spirits with me, than you will want these Binder Covers, along with all of the goodness that I have added to go inside the binders. First up, Letterhead. You can use this to write a letter to your teachers, outlining procedures and expectations. When I have been a Primary Teacher, this was SO valuable to help me know what our goal was as a primary, and little things that I should be in the know on.
Next is a substitute list. Need I say more? Subs? Lifesavers? Same thing.
And last, I have included a Lesson Outline. SOOO nice when last minute subs are called in.
All of these items are editable in Adobe Reader! Yay!

Primary 2019-Come Follow Me- Free Printables

I LOVE these little extra printables. But my favorite FAVORITE would have to be the “Welcome to Primary” postcard. Guys. Listen. Want to make the kiddos in your primary feel so SO cool and special? Send them something in the mail! Seriously. Kids LOVE it! My boys go bananas in pajamas when something comes for them. This is also an awesome way to get the word out about upcoming time changes, and to prepare kids for who their new teachers will be.
The presidency contact card would go awesome in the front cover of your binders, or to give to your teachers when meeting with them for the first time.

Primary 2019 Free Printables - Newsletters

Now that church is only 2 hours, and opening / closing exercises limited to 5 minutes, I really wanted to create a way to highlight kids, as well as send out pertinent information. I made this newsletter to fit that need. There are 2 options here. One is already filled out with headers, as well as information boxes for Opening / Closing exercises.  Oh, and the study outline. Yeah, it’s awesome. But if it’s not your jam, than I have this blank one for you that you can edit yourself to your hearts desire. Both of these are editable in Adobe Reader.
