Let us ponder PDF Print E-mail
by Shel Eldredge / ga12212007

We painted inexpensive wooden stars and put a black wire curled around a pencil for the hanger through a hole in the star.  Then we tied a piece of torn cloth around the hanger.  We then printed up this poem I wrote on red cardstock to give with it.

Let us ponder the story of the first Christmas star.
The shepherds of old who saw its light from afar,
The joyous message that came with that light,
Our precious Redeemer born on that night.

Let us ponder the meaning of that first Christmas Light,
Of the symbol of love, of hope shining bright
As we strive to become as our Savior, our friend,
Who would give us the gift of life without end.

Let us ponder the light deep within our own heart,
How we must let it shine, we must do our part,
To share with the world the hope that was born,
When the world welcomed Christ, that first Christmas morn

A light in the sky, in the world, in my heart,
A light in my eyes, in my deeds, in my part,
A light from my Savior, may His light shine through me,
As bright as the star placed on my Christmas tree.
