Bedtime Stories... PDF Print E-mail
by Shirlyn Jones / 06182008

I have found that the best way to end the day at girls camp is to read a bedtime story and then follow up the next morning with a small item that reinforces the lesson from the story. I love the stories The Princess and the Kiss (about purity) and The Squire and the Scroll (the rewards of a pure heart). They are both by Jennie Bishop and they are childrens stories that allow for some great discussions. I wait until all of the girls are in their beds and then sit where I can be heard and show them the pictures. It really brings a sweet and calm way to end the day. You can find children stories that address any topic you feel needs to be reintroduced or discussed. I love the small amount of preparation it takes for a huge return. And I found that you never outgrow the joy of a bedtime story, no matter how old you are.
