Battleship - Hit and Sing! PDF Print E-mail

This follows the same basic rules as the real Battleship - each class will call out a grid number. If that grid contains a "ship" we'll sing that phrase of the song and mark it on our grids. If that grid is empty, we will move to the next class. Once a "ship" has been "hit" 4 times, we will "sink" that ship and not sing that phrase again until the end of singing time when we sing the entire first verse.

I have a 6x6 grid labeled A1-A6 through F1-F6. I'll mark the position of each phrase on the master list for myself and the pianist. If the kids get a "hit" we'll sing that phrase. Each "ship" will occupy 4 spaces on the master grid.

I'm going to print off some ships (SSS1, SSS2, etc.) on cardstock and have them posted above each phrase so we can put a mark on each one and know how close we are to sinking that ship. Ideally, this will give 4 practice turns to each phrase in the song. Even if we don't "sink" all 4 ships, we'll sing the entire song at the end of singing time.

Each class will have their own grid to keep track on. I'll have a master grid also that I'll be marking as we play.

The phrases will be divided like they were in Putt Putt Singing:

1. If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do?
2. Would I follow His commandments and try harder to be true?
3. Would I follow His example?
4. Would I live more righteously?
5. If I could see the Savior standing nigh, watching over me?
