Last year we made bottlecap necklaces for the girls and tie tacks for the boys (mini bottlecaps)...just another idea to add to the zipper pulls. Super easy to make and I found all of the supplies on etsy.

We are doing this too, only one of the counselors in our ward found the cuties "I Am a Child of God" stickers. She found them, and bought them (knowing we could find a good way to use them.) I tried looking on Deseret Book's and Seagull Book's website, but I don't see them. If I find them, I'll post a picture. They are so cute and will be fantastic on these zipper pulls.

We are giving the children a wristband that has I Am A Child of God stamped on it with 2013 on the back. It is always good to be reminded of that. I found our wristbands at 24hrwristband.com.

Our primary wanted to order the wrist band also but haven't been able to get them to accept the amount of bands. Did you call them and are they a reputable company?

We ordered CTR wristbands from them last year. They were awesome. I got emails for every different phase they were in. I totally recommend them.

I ordered "I am a Child of God" wristbands for our Primary Birthday Gifts from ldsgreats.com. You can order as many or few as you want and in any color(s) you want as well. They have a jr. primary size and a sr. primary size. I think they were around .85 cents a piece. Very fast shipping! I am very happy with what we got

We are also doing the wristbands, but I got ours from "Reminderband.com" (I found that is who makes the CTR band for Deseret Book). I price compared and found that 24hr would not mix sizes or colors, for that they wanted an extra $40! With Reminderband you can get a great variety, and they are made in Logan, UT. We ended up with a cost of $.44 per band.

We are printing out an I am a Child of God printable from here on a nice cardstock that they can put on their wall and frame if they wish.

We are making small square wooden blocks cut from 2x4 wood, painted in assorted colors with vinyl "I am a child of God", since that is 2013's theme.

W are doing the blocks too. The blocks will be in the primary colors. With I am a Child of god on front.

We are giving a white pillowcase with "I Am a Child of God" embroidered on the band.

We made the birthday cans this year and filled them with candy and small toys, I already gave them their name's on 2x4's with "is a child of God" thru the name, that was cute, fun and cheap. (love my cricut) This year I think I like the zipper pulls someone posted earlier. .60 is cheap. Thanks for all your help. We haven't exactly figured out the gifts yet, but we do know that we will give the children a coupon to give to the Bishop who will give them the gift. Trying to incorporate him more in to our primary!

Our primary kids get a "bishop buck" which they exchange for a small treat from the bishopric. This past year they got smarties, with a note telling them to be a smartie and choose the right. For this upcoming year we are doing Hershey's treasures with a saying something like, you are worth more than silver and gold. you are a child of god, attached to a paper treasure box.

We do this as well. The Bishop loves it, and wants to continue this year. They have a little cup cake cutout with their name and birthday written on it (cup cake was from Learning Palace)that they take to the Bishop to exchange for a piece of candy. They get the opportunity to have a little chat and it makes them feel special.

I think we will do 4 x 4 tiles with the words, "I am a child of God" on them in vinyl. them glue a ribbon on top for them to hang them. Tiles are about 16 cents.

This is an AWESOME idea! I love simple things with the right message, so this is right up my alley. I was just called (this week) as president, so thank you for giving such an easy, affordable idea. We have about 80 kids, so I need easy and affordable at this point!

We give our primary a Bishop Buck (paper dollar) to redeem with the Bishop for candy and a visit. We also visit each child the week of their birthday and are planning to bring mirrors with "I Am a Child of God" on them to remind the kids of the theme and the proclamation (created in the image of God).

We are planing on doing the mirror idea too but we haven't been able to find them. Where did you find yours?

We did this a few years ago and I went to a local glass shop (window stores) and they were able to purchase a big mirror and then they cut them into 4x4 squares and then had someone cut vinyl " I am a Child of God" and then we glued a ribbon on the back so that the kids could hang them up. Then we covered the ribbon with contact paper.

We found a place online that does pocket mirrors. you can design the back of them so we are having "I am a child of God" put on them. The children can easily carry them with them in their pockets or put them in their backpacks. the web site is www.buttonhead.biz we ordered 150 and with shipping it costs about a dollar a piece.

We found one on Pinterest. Nothing fancy and we tried to make it neutral for a boy or girl. Also I am Pretty sure she said that she would design one for you free of charge too. she was very nice and got back with us right away too.

Dollar Tree had hand mirrors that also came with a small compact mirror. Someone in our stake did the vinyl across the front for a great price. The mirrors come in about five different colors. $1 each for the hand & compact set.

We're using the bookmarks found on this site. Printed on cardstock, laminated and a ribbon attached to the top.

We found these are the best quality- the clasp is strong and does not break, and the epoxy stickers are thick with strong adhesive and don't yellow. Others we've tried had problems, so we're glad we found these as they are more worth the money so they last for the kids, and .60 is still well within our budget.

Okay, so I'm not very crafty. What kind of glue should I use to attach images to the bottlecaps? Also, did you print the I Am a Child of God images on your own printer? Thanks for the great idea!

We used e6000 glue. The images are best when printed on photo paper, so it is recommended to buy the file of images for 2.50 and then you can have as many copies printed at your local photo lab as you need. If you need further details, you can email Fizzy Pops by going to www.fizzypops.com. They can always help you with any tips you need.

The kit comes with all the instructions and everything you need, you just need to have glue and a 1" circle punch for the images. You punch the image, place the epoxy sticker over the top, and glue it to the bottle cap. Using images printed on photo paper turns out the best, and these kits from Fizzy Pops are the best quality clasps and stickers so the product will last, unlike others we've tried, and still only .60 each- they also have the fastest turnaround time.

We are getting large suckers from Oriental Trading company. They have versions that can be personalized with a big letter and saying, which works perfectly for I am a child of God.

We're going to attach a tag with the quote from the My Gospel Standards poster that reads: I am a child of God. I know Heavenly Father loves me and I love Him. I can pray to Heavenly Father anytime, anywhere. I am trying to remember and follow Jesus Christ.

Interested in this idea but wondering what letter you would choose to use?

We were going to make the letter a big capital I with "am a child of God." as the rest of it. It works pretty well.

I found some small canvas bags in our Primary closet that were never used so I painted each one with "I am a Child of God" (2013 theme) for each child for their birthdays. They are the perfect size for scriptures and all the handouts they get in Primary. Each one is different as well so they are unique. BTW,I have a small primary of 35, so it was doable.

We got 1 dozen for 12.50 each, so about $60.00 for all the primary kids in our primary.

We are going to order the snowglobes from orential trading. They have the kind you can put a picture in. So we will get a small picture of each child and put it in the globe, then add a clear label on the front with "I am a Child of God" on it.

I looked online at Oriental Trading Company and wasn't sure which snow globe you would use that the photograph wouldn't be damaged by the water. A catalog number would really help me. I'm pretty brain dead with the holiday rush. Thanks for more detail. It's a great idea!!!

This year we had little note tablets made that say "I am a Child of God". We are giving these and a pencil and a small treat in a cellophane bag. We put their names on them so that we know if we have missed anyone. We also have some blank ones to add names if anyone moves into our ward.

I am weaving the young women a shall and making the young men a priesthood notebook and giving both an "Iron Rod" to remind them about the scriptures and what they mean.

We are giving the kids a pillowcase with "I am A Child of God" ironed on in the middle so they can remember to talk to their Heavenly Father every day.

We got the giant pixie sticks and will put a round paper circle on top to make it look like a balloon and write I am a child of God on it.

We're giving them a treat. Our Primary kids like that the most for their birthday. We are thinking something like "Primary is "crackers" for you" and giving them animal crackers. Last year we did "Remember to always 'Chews' the Right" and had chewing gum and chewy candy in a treat bag. The kids were so excited to be sung to and receive their treat.

Past years we did silly bands, stickers, scripture markers, book marks, temple pics, pencils, etc. and unfortunately noticed the kids simply didn't use them nor looked forward to them. The treat is easy and they love it, so we are sticking with that this year again.

I made "I am a Child of God" window cling stickers for the children to put on a mirror that they look at everyday. I am going to use the same graphics to print bookmarks to give to visitors. I will try to send in the file to share.

This year we made the little magnets that are made out of those clear pebble stones and we printed "i am a child of god" on different colored paper to place behind it.

We found I am a child of God tie tacks for the boys and we are making a necklace from a braclet charm buy purchasing the necklace and a split ring for the girls at www. charmingldsgifts.com. They are a little more expensive ($1.99) but it will be something they can use for years.

We got customized dog tags with our primary name and then I AMA childnignGod 2013 on them.

We bought slap bracelets from oriental trading and ironed I am a child of god in the center of them I just printed it on the iron transfer paper. They were cute and cheap

We got 3/$1 notebooks at the dollar store, and put the theme and scripture on the front. And I collected old, broken crayons from the neighborhood and local school (teachers gave loads!). Then I melted them down and remolded them in the Wilton silicone mold of gingerbread men ($8 for mold at Walmart or $6.50 at craft store with coupon). Just fill the mold with pieces (I like to mix colors). Put it in the oven at 350 for 10 minutes. Under $0.50 each.

We are giving our kids cute little round candy tins that I ordered on pricewisefavors.com. They have a little round sticker on top that reads "I am a Child of God". We will fill them with little candies such as M&M's. About $1/each once we add candy. They can then re-use the tin after the candy is gone with special little things they want to keep safe, and always be reminded by the beautiful message that they are children of God.

We printed the words I Am a Child of God onto wristbands in fun colors and put them, an Article of Faith Card,and candy in a soup can and sealed it up. Made a cute label and attached. It is so nice because they can't open it until they get home!

Because I teach 11 turning 12-year-olds, each year I find something with that year's Youth theme on it and give that to them framed. This is because they are entering the Youth program when they turn 12 and need to be aware of the theme as they will be expected to know it for the year.

We're giving Ring Pops with a little card attached that says "Your worth is far above rubies! Happy birthday to a wonderful child of God!" It's simple, basically zero work, and what kid doesn't love a ring pop?? AND they're only like 25-33 cents each.

We bought some cute little frames that did not cost much at all. We took pictures of all the kids for the bulletin board, so we just made two copy's and placed on in the frame that said "I am a child of God" on it.

We are giving the kids a pen with I Am A Child Of God subway art in it. Super easy and really cute!

We are using a light house and light theme with I am a Child Of God. I ordered mini flashlights from oriental trading and attatched a laminated tag to it with the scripture Let your light so shine ....

We ordered CTR rings in a bunch of different languages from the LDS online store. The kids will get to pick a ring out of a birthday bag and then we'll make a big fuss over what language they got. We haven't had any birthdays yet this year but I'm hoping the kids will like it.

I think I found this idea on this site awhile ago, but we are giving each child their own bag of microwave popcorn (un-popped of course) and we have a tag attached that says "We hope you have a "POP"-tastic birthday! Love, The Primary Presidency
So far the kids love it.

We took all the childrens pictures and have put them on a door hanger with the words "I am a child of God" written on with a paint pen. We painted them all the same color so we didn't get the "I wanted that color". Then we mod podged them on.

We cut paper picture frames and put lettering for "I am a Child of God" on them. Then we ran them through a Xyron machine with the laminate/magnet cartridge. It puts a laminate surface on top and magnet on the back. Then you just cut them out. They go great on the fridge. That way the children can have the daily reminder of seeing their picture with the words "I am a Child of God."

Our ward would like to try the Bishop Bucks/Coupons this year. Does anyone have a template of this that we could use? I would appreciate it if you could send me a template at vtulley@hotmail.com. I read the idea last week on this site and shared it with my presidency and they loved the idea and left me in charge of coming up with it so now I am asking for your assistance.
