Enrichment Activity 2 - [pdf] [Word]

Ericka uses a short video clip about the Unmerciful Servant in the presentation.  It is not an ebedded clip...you will need to download it here (it's an mp4 file).  Here is the same file as a .wmv but it is a much larger file and will take a lot more time to download.

Ericka writes, "Make sure you are on the correct lesson number for your ward/branch. I usually work on powerpoints a week or two ahead of where I am teaching.

I left the links in for the scripture references. If you have internet access when you teach your lesson, you can click on the scripture reference during the powerpoint. I like to have the children in my class use their scriptures however.

When I prepare the powerpoints the lesson and scripture story are nearly word for word from lds.org. I occasionally make slight changes to make it flow better for a powerpoint. However, for the most part, it's identical to the manual and the New Testament scripture stories found on lds.org.

You may need to tweak things so they'll work properly for you. Feel free to alter and delete slides as you see fit! The powerpoint is longer than what can be covered in class because I have included all of the enrichment activities. Choose whichever ones you want to use in class and delete the others. Enjoy!"

I did something different on this powerpoint and I hope no one finds it irreverant. There is no corresponding childrens scripture story on lds.org for this lesson. I put in a short video I found on youtube that was done lego animation. However, it's very close to the scripture account. I thought of using either that or the dramatization included in the ideas for this lesson. Enjoy!

Ericka, you are a LIFE saver! I have VERY hyper 10-11 year olds. Your power point helps keep their focus. Thank you!!!!

I don't see the lego movie. Do you have the link?

I'm attempting to send it to Melanie now. It comes through as a big file in wmv format for some reason and substantially smaller as an mp4. I can't get mp3 or mp4 files to run with the latest version of Office, so I'm stuck with the bigger file size. Here's the link to the youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMLVNUENogA however. I didn't get the video either, but I found it on Utube. I can't figure out any way to download it to my computer to show it in church. We have no internet access there, or I would just show it on Utube. How did you download it?

I just want to THANK YOU SO MUCH, for all the time you put into the WONDERFUL powerpoints!!!!!!

Thank you so much for your hard work. Love watching them. I do not have a lap top and I can't get the internet to work in my ward building. Do you know of any way of downloading them to an ipad???

The file is posted above in wmv and mp4 formats. I'm still trying to find a way to embed the file into the powerpoint. If I figure it out, I'll send the revised ppt to Melanie. Ericka

I know there must be a way to do it. Someone posted a comment on one of my previous ones that they did it. There is probably a conversion file that will do it. I suggest checking with apple to find out how. They probably have encountered that question before. Sorry, I can't be more helpful!

Sometimes for a change, instead of teaching thru powerpoint, I just print the powerpoint out in "handout" format and I teach from that. Makes the lessons so much easier. I only do the laptop teaching 1 time a month for a treat. But for those of you who do not have laptops, you can still use the powerpoint lesson by printing it out in "Handout" format. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for these power point lessons. I love how you incorporate the scriptures so the children can look them up. These lessons are so helpful to me the way they are laid out. I don't have a laptop so I just print out the slides and use them that way. Thank you again.

I'm glad you like the powerpoints! The lesson is pretty much word for word from the manual and I just cut and paste it from lds.org. I try to find pictures that help bring out the messages the lessons seem to be trying to convey. I think it helps the children I teach to absorb the messages better than listening to me talk at them.
