LESSON HELPS:
I asked my son last night night what his favorite Scripture Mastery game was when he was in Seminary. He said it was a game where one student sat in a chair and all the other students stood around him/her in a circle. The teacher would call out a scripture master and all the kids would throw marshmallows at the one looking up the scripture till he/she found it, stood up and read or recited it. Then that student would choose another student to be in the hot seat. I thought it sounded silly, but decided to try it anyway. The kids LOVED it!! They said it was the most fun scripture mastery game they had ever played. Its rambunctious and loud, but they sure did enjoy it. And its really easy! -Terisa, Wyoming

LDS Seminary Scripture Mastery
Our class varies from ones who memorize easily to one who almost proudly states he has a memory problem and can't memorize things. I put the Scripture Mastery (SM) poster up and assigned each of the 14 students a few words of the SM. They "owned" that phrase and were to memorize it and be familiar with the phrase before and after it. Then the poster came down and the fun started. We went around the class several times, each saying his phrase; then I warned them to listen carefully because after this time, we would move up one student to begin the SM. If anyone couldn't remember the "owned" phrase, the owner should supply it. They were having fun as we kept moving up a student to begin after they were reasonably proficient at the current level. I encouraged them to declare their phrase theatrically. They were learning and having fun. Even my memory impaired student was enthusiastically helping someone else with a phrase other than his "owned" one. To pass off a SM, they need to say it three successive days to their parents or to me; but all were feeling they could be successful with this one this weekend. (Idea by Terese in Oregon)

Welcome to Seminary
Last year was my first year of teaching seminary. I was able to print the worksheets off the lds site. Now I cant find where I got them or how to get them for the Old Testament. I know you can look at the manual online but I mean the worksheets that were for the students to use and then the one for teachers which included the answers like in the manual. Can anyone help me?
