I hope these lesson helps are informative.  However, they are just suggestions and in no way meant to replace the lesson manual.  Rather, my intent is to give you extra ideas in case your lesson runs short or to help add to your lesson.  Only you have the inspiration needed to fulfill your calling.  Most of the following suggestions come from, or are adapted from, the Friend Magazine, Primary Manuals or FHE Manuals.  May you be blessed in your efforts to teach the children about our Savior and His gospel.   If you have something that you've prepared and you would like to share it with all of us, feel free to  e-mail me.

Hi, my name is melanie, i was just wondering if at anytime you will consider to start maing like some kind of quizz or test like for the lessons. to see how much our kids have learn. i do a test at the end of each month. but it will be so much help if you have more ideas like this and you know material.

  • Clyde A. Murray  - Quizzes

quizzes are not that difficult to come up with. first of all what class do you teach, and how long have you been a member of the church? You may write to me directly at so I may assist you in your class.

    Hope this helps, Brother Murray

  • Tina

I just wanted to tell you how much I love your web site. Thank you for taking time to create it and maintain it it really has been helpful. ~ Tina

  • SarahR  - Personal Plates

To start this year I am going to have all the children write their thoughts about Joseph Smith on "plates" of their own (cardboard covered in tin foil) and can choose a code if they want (keep the key to it). They will get them at the end of the year and see how much they have learned.

  • Jeanette Tuitavuki  - Newsletter

I was wondering if there was a Valiant 10 Newsletter for 2013 for D&C like I saw for the Book of Mormon. If so where would I find that? Or how any suggestions as to how I can go about making one for my class? This is such a wonderful site I can't express my thanks to all who make this possible for all of us. Many thanks. :)

  • Janice P.  - Valiant Newsletters

Last year in 2012 there were so many wonderful newsletters to hand out to my Primary kids for each lesson on the Book of Mormon. This year no one is doing newsletters for the Doctrine and Covenants and Church History lessons. I miss them and would like to know if there are any talented people who would consider sharing their talents with us who are not so talented. Thank you for your help.

:cheer: I am 1+ year convert in the church and my husband and I are now primary teachers for Valient, I need to thank you for helping us to give the children an enhanced experiance, when I am not sure what to do to keep these intellegent children who honestly know more than I do about the stories we are teaching, your newsletters and ideas help so very much. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  • Janell  - Handouts

Thank you SO much for the handouts! I teach the Valiant 9 children and give these handouts as their "homework." If they return their homework the next week, they can receive a treat. It's amazing how responsible they've been with it and they also remember the lesson content much better from week to week. I really love their recap of the previous weeks lesson because it makes me feel like a good teacher. :woohoo:

  • Melinda  - THANK YOU!!!

Thanks a lot for all your ideas!! I am from Argentina and I am 17 years old. I have NOTHING of experience.. haha it is always very useful!! THANKS!!!!

  • dharma farnsworth  - Lesson 39 - d&c winter quarters

    waiting and hoping! :woohoo:

  • Janice P.  - Newsletters and Powerpoint

This Sunday, November 3, 2013, my husband and I are teaching Lesson 40, "The First Pioneer Company Crosses the Plains." We are missing the newsletter and powerpoint for that lesson. Would any talented person have the time to prepare one for us to use? We would be so grateful. We have used them in the past and appreciate them so much!

  • Clyde A. Murray

My wife and I start the year by giving the students a notebook with their names on them. That way the students have a place to put the Valiant News Letters, and other handouts during the year. We also provide other information such as the Sacrament Prayers, the Articles of Faith, the Beattitudes, and other such information that they may want. I have put together a list of definitions that have helped me with my personal scripture study that is given to the students.
I hope this helps anyone and thank you so much for this site and for the help in the class.

    Merry Christmas,

    Clyde & Sylvia
