"I just taught this lesson yesterday...this is what I did (here). I just got some pudding cups, and they LOVED it. Instead of tieing it, I glued them to the tops." (Idea by Amy)

OBJECT LESSONS:
I am going to bring in a plate of cookies covered in foil, so the girls can't see them. I am going to start off by telling them that I made chocolate chip cookies to share with them and then offer each of them a cookie w/o chocolate chips. Hopefully someone will ask where the chocolate chips are. I am then going to explain that the cookie still tastes good without the chocolate chips, but wouldn't it taste better if there were chocolate chips in the cookie. Then I am going to explain that the Church is good and true, but wouldn't it be sweeter if we added service to our gospel experience. Then I will proceed with the lesson as outlined. At the end of the lesson I will give the girls their chocolate chip cookies with a little quote that says: "The gospel is like a chocolate chip cookie! Without the chocolate chips the cookie still tastes good, but the chocolate chips make it SWEETER! The gospel is good and true, but giving the gift of service makes it SWEETER!" I loved this talk by Jan U Pinborough "The Value of Every Calling" http://lds.org/ensign/2000/03/the-value-of-every- calling?lang=eng&query=value+every+calling
She refers to the scripture: “Therefore, let every man … labor in his own calling; and let not the head say unto the feet it hath no need of the feet; for without the feet how shall the body be able to stand?” (D&C 84:109).
"Those who do this work—like the “feet” in the well-known metaphor of the body of Christ—move the Lord’s work forward in ways as indispensable as they are often unnoticed."
I'm going to use shoes for my display, and tie it in to my hand out as well.
