Conference Baggies

Janna writes, "Our family has a lot of fun with conference: conference cookies, cupcakes, BINGO and notebooks that we make. To make it even more exciting I put pictures of the apostles and prophets on treat baggies and they get to have that treat during that talk. The children look forward to conference more than many other family celebrations. I'm trying to avoid the sugar treats, but I'm often trying to get this together at the last minute and I get lazy. I did use my cricut machine to cut up some church pictures to make puzzles. Many things can be free if you use your imagination.

What a great idea! We put our in gift bags (we have a ton) so the girls couldn't see what was inside a bug us for the "better" ones. We also refilled Pres. Monson's since he speaks multiple times.

how did you decide which pictures to include? seeing as there are many talks and we don't know who will be giving them (for the most part).

Anika - all members of the 12 speak, so you are safe with those. If a 70 or a General Primary/RS member speaks, just let the kids play with that bag until the next apostle.

And where did you get that size picture of the apostles? All i can find are the 8 1/2x11 at distribution.

Emmylou- I used the pictures from the conference issue of the Ensign. I actually printed them from lds.org, I found the pdf version the easiest to print. Hope that helps!

** LOVE this idea - just wanted to comment that actually only 14 members of 1st pres. and Qof12 speak in the general sessions. One member of the Qof12 usually speaks in the Priesthood Session only, so you may miss one. I thought maybe you could just have "dad" tell them about them while you had the baggie, or just watch for the camera to scan over them. Perhaps this is a bonus on the FHE following too?

this is a cute idea but my mom changed it up a bit she just used the conference bingo and if we got a bingo then we got 5 points then she bought some prizes and called it "The Conference Store" each prize was from 5-30 points from bubbles to iTunes gift cards it was a great idea oh i love my mom and thank you for this idea!!!
