I bought a Chinese Jump Rope for about $2 and
taught my girls how to play. We used to play all the time when I was in
school, but these girls had never even heard of it! They LOVED it, and
have asked my several times since then if we can play again. I also
brought jacks, another game I played when I was small, but has since
gone "out of fashion." They loved it also! (Idea by Michelle)
Missionary Tag - It's a game like tag, but in pairs. Every girl
pairs up and hooks one arm. All the girls stand in a circle or box
but spread out. Two girls start in the middle, one being "it". The other
girl runs to one of the pair of girls hooking her arm in one of the girls
that is paired up. When she hooks her arm to the one girl the other girl
in the pair then runs to hook her arm to another girl. She is trying to do
this before the girl that is "it" tags her. If she gets tagged she is it
and the other girls runs to hook arms. When the girls get tired of
running, they sometimes change the rules where they might skip, hop, or
walk. They've even played where the two girls paired up are turning around
in a circle. (Idea by Daphne Brimhall)
Play baseball with a tennis racquet and tennis ball.
Scripture Dodgeball - You divide into teams and play dodgeball. As
they get out they have to answer a question about the gospel, whether its
church, scripture, past prophets, anything. When they get one right they can go
back in.
