For the Strength of Youth Bag

Next week we are doing our Integrity activity and we have purchased items that go with the FTSOY sections. They will go in a satin evening bag that I got on clearance for .25.   I have found that a lot of the non-members that attend on a regular basis do not know or understand our standards and you have to know them to live them and so we are going over a refresher course, some of our members need it too, and then we are having a panel discussion on how to say no and keep your friends, because once you know what the standards are you still have peer pressure to deal with. We are doing this with the Mia Maids and Laurels, but I am sure that you could tone it down a bit for the beehives. We live in a small town way out in the country and our girls are faced with a lot of pressure from the kids at school and there aren't a lot of people to choose from and we need to help them find inner strength and strength as a group, and how to help one another do what is right. Hope this helps. I found most of the items on the list below for less than .10 each. The most expensive item was the purse at .25 At the end of the night we will challenge the girls to find something that they can work on to improve in their lives. (Integrity #2)

Safety pin – Your integrity shows through your clothes (Head shoulders, knees and toes card with the actions on it)

Entertainment and the Media
Tootsie Pop: Avoid all Immoral and Suggestive Materials and Entertainment - "Lick temptations! Don't participate in activities that aren't appropriate."

Music and Dancing
Blank CD –choose uplifting music to listen to

Language
Lipstick sample – "Speak not evil of one another" James 4:11 Avoid gossip
Conversation hearts – Speak kindly and positively about others so you can fulfill the Lord's commandment to love one another.

Dating
Kisses: Save your kisses for your eternal companion
Frog notepaper: You have to date a lot of frogs before you find "Prince Charming"

Sexual Purity
Soap – Staying clean before the Lord is a wonderful feeling! Always be morally clean.

Repentance
Handi wipe – The Savior washes your sin away so you can be clean again
An eraser - "Repentance is like an eraser - it rubs out wrongs"

Honesty
Penny – "Lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven…for where you treasure is, there will your heart be also." 3Nephi 18:20-21

Sabbath Day Observance
Pen – write letters, write in journals, choose the right and observe the Sabbath day.

Tithes and Offerings
Play Money – Paying tithes shows your gratitude for all that God has given you. (5 and 5 ones)

Physical Health
trail mix – The Lord has commanded you to take good care of your body

Service to other
Perfume Sample – Service is the fragrance of friendship

Go Forward with Faith
Lotion Sample – Read the scriptures each day and absorb the teachings in them
Toothpaste sample – Say your personal prayers at least twice a day heart charm on Key Chain – Listen to the whisperings of the spirit with your heart

Temple Schedule card – Always strive to live your life so you are worthy to enter the Temple.

Tissue – A person all wrapped up in herself is over-dressed

Integrity
Integrity card (from the Young Women Integrity Book by Linda Dastrup) – go over standards and recap

Emory board – Although life may seem rough at times, the trials we have now will help to shape and define us as women.

FTSOY card – to remind them to always keep their standards with them at all times
