A Pattern for Living
Handout Idea for Adopt-A-Grandparent Activity
by Barbara Adams / ga02202007

Here's a cute idea. It's called a "Pattern for Living" Cut a simple shape of a dress out of cardstock for the cover, and several of the same size out of paper for the inside pages. They are held together at the neckline with a cute brad (so you can slide the pages up to read it, without bending them). On each page there is a sewing notion that goes with the quote. For example:

"Let your testimony be 'Trimming' in your life." II Timothy 1:8, and there is a small piece of lace glued to the page.

The others are:

"Measure up to your calling" Luke 6:38 (a small piece of a tape measure attached)

"Put some 'snap' into your life." Colossians 3:16 (a snap glued to paper)

"Expand your love to include everyone" Matthew 5:44 (a piece of elastic)

"Let your message be felt" 1 John 3:11 (a square of felt attached)

"Know when to button your lip" Proverbs 10:19 (a button attached)

"Guard against the sharp points of discouragement." Psalm 37:1-17 (a safety pin attached.)

On the last page or on the back cover put a little heart with the girls initial in it with the message, "This booklet is a gift of Love and Prayers from:____________________________
The cover has a cute picture of an angel and says "Pattern for Living"
