Time Management Tips for High School Students

I put actual items in a treasure chest instead of just pictures.
I also printed choice and accountability stationary for the girls from
Christy's Clipart - we used that for
the paper- I always talk about a value with each lesson. I found a great
choice and accountability quote about time: " Our priorities are most visible on
how we use our time. Someone has said, "Three things never come back---the spent
arrow, the spoken word, and the lost opportunity." We cannot recycle or save the
time allotted to us each day. With time, we have only one opportunity for
choice, and then it is gone forever." Elder Dallin H Oaks I got a great idea
from my handout manual to draw a clock on the board and put the 7 points in
equal slots on the clock- for a handout I got treasure chests and put "valuable
candy jewels inside." (Idea by Heather)

Fill a jar with plastic eggs and popcorn kernels (put the
plastic eggs in first). In front of the class, empty the jar into a bowl.
Separate out the eggs. The eggs represent the important tasks of the day -
prayer, scripture study, chores, homework, family time, etc. The kernels
represent play time, phone time, etc. Pour all the kernels back in, then try to
put the eggs back in. They shouldn't fit. Moral - if you don't do the
important things first, you can't get everything done. By the end of the day,
you will be too tired to pray, and read scriptures and so on.
