Choices: The Fabric of Our Lives
(from BYU Women's Conference)

Lesson Helps from Young Women Connection

I started out with an object lesson
using a rat trap with a $5 bill attached to where the cheese would normally go.
I asked if anyone wanted to get the money of course nobody did.. I then showed
them what it would do to a pencil when setting off the trap. I compared it
to the traps and snares of Satan and how important it was to make wise
choices... the girls loved it.. we went through the lesson.. then at the end for
fun I had found in the New Era an article game called the
marry go round game with Mormon mary and normon non-mormon.
We read through it and laughed and of course talked about how often times our
little choices don't seem like much but can make a big difference in our lives.
I then handed out a little mouse trap for each girl on the back I wrote, "Escape
the traps and snares of Satan by making wise choices." (Idea shared by Tara
Hendrickson)
We are lifted up
- use this object lesson to show that making good choices strengthens us and
lifts us up.
