I’m going to use this idea, but rather than handing out snickers in exchange for the peanuts, I will hand out “payday” bars. Then on my handout, I wrote: In the big picture, the things we sacrifice now are just “peanuts” compared to the “payday” of achieving our righteous goals. Click here for the handout. A great little activity/object lesson is to have the girls pair off. Then you tell the girls that you are going to arm wrestle. The object is to get the most candy possible by getting your opponents arm to the table. The easiest way for them to accomplish this is to each decide to sacrifice a little and just go back and forth. You may have some that figure this out but most people's competitive nature makes it so they just sit struggling unless they have someone they can easily beat. You talk about how if each would have just given and taken a little it would have been easy to gain a lot of points, but each person had to be willing to sacrifice. I told them that they were getting candy for the points and passed around a bowl of candy to everyone in the end. (Idea by Brenda)
