Blueberry Muffin - Attach the following saying, "Sometimes
we can't see the blueberries on the surface but if you take a bite there they
are. Our talents are much the same way. We must make the effort to find our
Godlike qualities."

Give the girls several smaller pieces of paper. Have them write down one
spiritual gift they have obtained on each paper. On the others, gifts they would
like to receive. Have them wrap a box and lid (removable) and place the papers
inside. Review the ways to receive spiritual gifts and have them remove the
papers one at a time as they work towards their goals. (Credit Unknown)
This
lesson fits some of the requirements for Individual Worth (Goal) #7.
I am going to contact the girls mothers ahead of time to have them write some
gifts their daughter has. Then I will have the Young Women write below it
on the same page so it can go towards that goal.

Patti's Lesson Plan
When I taught this lesson the last time I wrapped
up boxes with spiritual gifts on them and during the lesson I presented the
gifts to the girls randomly. We talked about why they didn't all have the same
gifts and how they could develop gifts (I would then give them another box) that
they maybe didn't have. At the end they each choose a gift from the pile that
they wanted to work on developing in the next couple of months. It was pretty
effective and the "gifts" were cute enough that some of the girls still have
them sitting on their dressers. (Idea by Jill Hansen / ga01082007)

I am using an object lesson of a potted plant -
the pot is like our body, the soil like our spirit and Heavenly Father has given
us all different seeds (spiritual gifts) and we have to nourish them. I'm giving
them each a very small clay pot with dirt and different and seeds inside that
says 'Nourish the gift that is in you". (Idea from Stephanie)
