Christy's Clipart
Bouquet of Righteous
Traditions by Tiffanee Gould

Call the girls the day before and ask them to come prepared to share one of
their favorite family traditions with everyone. Give each girl an
opportunity to share their favorite tradition and why.

Righteous Traditions: Wise and Worthwhile Words of Wisdom (from BYU Women's
Conference)

I had them pass tennis balls. . .these represented worldly
traditions (not bad ones, just ones that we may do that don't really have a good
or bad effect on us) and then i had them pass a odd colored ball around
(spiritual traditions: things that bring us closer to the lord as a family). As
I added more balls it gave the girls more balls to juggle. I made it a point to
say "keep your eye on the spiritual traditions", to indicate that we have all
these traditions that we may or may not choose to continue in the future. . .but
it is important to continue the righteous traditions and not "drop" them (such
as reading scriptures and going to church). (Idea by Marian Allred /

I gave a lesson many years ago on traditions and
the lesson suggested using a scene from Fiddler On The Roof where he talks about
traditions. (Idea by Susan Wild)
