Talents Game

A Penny and a thought
Blueberry Muffin - Attach the following saying, "Sometimes
we can't see the blueberries on the surface but if you take a bite there they
are. Our talents are much the same way. We must make the effort to find our
Godlike qualities."
Bottle of water - "Don't bottle up your potential! 'Water' you
waiting for? Water your talents and watch them grow."

Developing Talents
I am going to follow the general outline of the lesson but
leave at least 15 minutes for the following activity. I am going to correlate
the talents the Lord gives us to his gifts to us. Then I am going to talk about
what a true gift is. Then I want to turn it into the Christmas season and the
reason behind Gifts during Christmas. Then I will talk to them about what gifts
they in return could give to the Savior. And again what a true gift is. Then I
have prepared a handout with
stationary
showing an drawing of Joseph, Mary and the baby Jesus in a manger, with the
Words "My Gift to Jesus" at the top. I have also made a matching
envelope. I am going to
give the girls 10 minutes to decide what their gift to Jesus can be. Then we
will seal them up and during a lesson close to Easter I will give them back to
the girls, so they can see how they have done.

I did this object lesson today but I changed it up
a bit….I spoke with one of the girl’s Mom before church and had her put a $10
bill in her scriptures. It absolutely dropped her jaw and all the girls got a
totally new perspective on how and why we have been given talents. (Idea shared
