Oreo Pops

These would make a fun birthday present,
Visiting Teaching and/or Thank You gift!

These are so easy and so fun.  Here is what you will need:

~ 1 package of Double Stuffed Oreos
~ sucker sticks (The craft store I went to had really long sucker sticks….they were perfect!)
~ melting chocolate (Again, the craft store I went to [JoAnn’s] had lots of different colors…which made it fun!)
~ individual baggies and ties (optional)
~ candies and sprinkles (whatever kind you want)
~ 9 x 13 pan
~ wax paper

First, put your sucker sticks in between the Oreos.  Make as many as you’d like.

Then, decide how you are going to melt your chocolate.   The package gives instructions on how to melt it in the microwave; however, I prefer the stove top.  So, I put it in a double broiler….added some water and started cooking.

After the chocolate is sufficiently melted, take it off the stove top and move it over to where you are working.  Lay out some wax paper on a 9 x 13 pan (I didn’t have much so I had to use tin foil!).  Depending on how many pops you’re making, you may need a couple of pans.  Then, take one of the Oreo pops and push the chocolate to one side of the pot and then the other.  I found that was the best way to cover it completely and it looked evenly coated.

After they are coated…lay them down on the wax paper.  Decorate with whatever candies you have.  Be creative.  It’s really fun!  These would be fun to make at Christmas time with crushed peppermint and use Christmas colors for the chocolate.

Then stick them in the fridge for five or ten minutes.  Then bag them up and deliver ‘em.  Make sure you keep them in the fridge because they’ll melt at room temperature (from my experience at least).  Here are some of the finished pops:

There you have it.  They turned out so cute.  Here are a few of them wrapped and ready to go:
