Newsletter Idea
I find that the best way to send out weekly newsletters is
by email to the girls, their parents and the bishopric. It is a great way
to make sure everyone is informed with the upcoming schedule, birthdays,
conducting schedule etc... But the greatest thing is that I receive lots
of important feedback this way. The girls will send me little notes
telling me how they are doing, if they need help, if they liked an
activity or not and the parents will also send notes saying how the girls
are doing. It is a great way to keep in touch. I actually got the idea from my daughter's Beehive leader in Boise, Idaho before we moved. She would send e-mails such as:
"Dear Bees - tonight fly on over to the hive for a bee-autiful night and we are going to buzz up some cookies to fly over to .......
Love your Queen Bees"
My daughter LOVED receiving those emails, as did I as they were so entertaining.
So when we moved, I was called as Young Women's President I started this up. Because we have a small group, I can't do the bee idea, as I e-mail to all three groups at once. But it is the most amazing way to send pictures, have contact and interact with parents and girls.
Additional Note - Something to consider if you choose this method of communication is to protect the privacy of the girls. Make sure to send your e-mails BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) so it goes to all your senders without disclosing anyone's e-mail address.
