The Vacation Basket

I am the Young Women President in my ward here in Sunny, Arizona.  We were having a terrible time with girls texting or taking calls during Young Women activities. So, in my hours of thinking about this, I came up with the ideas of a vacation basket. I did some really simple sewing and made 4 props that are in a basket. So, when we introduced this to our girls, we told them there were 4 different vacation destinations that their cell phones could choose to go during Young Women's.  I made a mini scarf that wraps around the cell phone for a skiing vacation, a sleeping bag that the cell phone fits inside for a camping vacation, a small, fuzzy robe for a spa vacation and a mini grass skirt that wraps around the cell phone for a Hawaiian vacation. My girls got a kick out of it and even the Young Men wanted to send their phones and/or electronics in it too! It’s a silly idea, but works!
