Choose a date sometime before Halloween. Provide hot soup and rolls or bread sticks, hot chocolate and donuts. Be sure to make some type of place cards that label each soup so people know what they are eating. Have everyone meet under the pavilion - making sure that the guys on the committee are guiding the parking of the cars - possibly backing up to the sidewalk around the church so the kids can walk on the side walk and not in the parking lot. Our pavilion is too far from the church so we are doing a semi -circle around the pavilion. Encourage the members to decorate their trunk and to bring a bag of candy to share - since one of the purposes of the activities committee is to involve the neighbors in the ward.  Be sure to invite all the houses in your ward boundaries by taping flyers to their doors.
