Some Chicken-Lickin'
Fun!
Choose one or all
activities for your next get together.
This would be a great summer
activity!
Advertising:
On back of flyer – Put “Why did the Chicken cross the road?” …with some of your favorite answers.

Games/Activities:
Egg Roll Off - Everyone brings a boiled egg marked as theirs. Two people roll egg their eggs into each others. One cracks one stays whole. The cracked egg is out the whole egg is then pitted against someone else. If the group is large you can have several going at once. This continues until only one whole egg remains and is crowned as champ.
Chicken Bowl – Use a whole frozen Cornish hen. Sometimes bowling allies will either give or sell real cheap their old pins. They have to be replaced anyways.
Have them balance an hard boiled egg on a spoon that is in their mouth.
Egg
Peel - Could have them wear gloves and have them try to peel a hard boil
egg. Or buy Styrofoam egg and have them put the "shell" back on while wearing
gloves (Paper Mache) or if someone could think of something else to use as the
shell.
Chicken Pox – Have two teams (one person on each team). Each person has a pair of gloves on and they have to
trace/outline a mug or cup and cut out three or four circles. Then they
have to put tape on the back of each paper and tape it on themselves before the other person finishes.
Rooster Crowing - Self explanatory.
Chicken Sling Shot - Purchase 2 large sling shots and 8 Rubber
Chickens, found at a party store. Have two teams going at one time. People will
break into teams of four and each team will launch 4
chickens. You'll need two
to hold the launchers, 1 to pull back the sling shot with Chicken in it and one
to catch the chickens. Make/have two pair of clown pants that the catchers will
wear and catch the chickens in. You could use large hula hoops for the tops of
the pants. Teams can stay in the same places for each of the 4 launches or
rotate as they wish. The winners are the team that catches the most chickens.
Egg
toss and/or an egg on a spoon relay.
Dance – Teach the Chicken Dance.
Contests:
Chicken Leg Contest - Thought we could have anyone who wanted to compete
(that way only ones who were in a goofy mood would participate). Just judge
from the knee down. Have all line up and use the (Queen for a day method). The
MC would put his hand over the head of each participant and the most audience
applause would crown the winner.
Egg-stra Special Dessert Bake-off - Have volunteers choose to
participate in a bake-off. You could have a few categories, like pies, cakes,
cookies, and then let everyone vote on the best ones. The only rule would be
that it should include an egg in the recipe to fit into the theme.
Chicken Hat – Have an award for the best chicken hat or even shirt or
other paraphernalia.
Especially for Kids:
“Chicken-Little” Walk – Have a cake walk with cupcakes for children under
10.
Charlie – Bring or buy a stuffed animal
chicken (dollar store) and tell the kids that "Charlie" the chicken has lost her
babies, and she needs their help finding them. The eggs are yellow pom-poms.
Young children love stickers and do not "get" winning/losing so on all games,
everyone could win!
Chicken Crafts
Another Craft - Give each child a construction paper shape of a
chicken or Chicken Little. Then provide white glue and yellow feathers. They
will glue the feathers onto their chicken.
"Hen, Hen, Chicken"
- (It's "Duck, duck, goose, just change the name!)
Chicken Little Piñata
Chicken
"Litter" Patrol – Have the children help pick up litter around the park
after the event for a small prize.
Food:
Chicken Noodle Soup or Chicken casserole or Chicken Nuggets or Chicken Pot Pies
or Chicken Enchiladas, BBQ Chicken, etc.
chips
rolls
watermelon
lemonade (yellow like a “chick”)
Possible Prizes:
Rubber Chicken Key chains, Certificates, Chicken Bones (a toffee/coconut candy),
at our dollar store they have those gummy eggs that look
like they went splat on the floor. The dollar store is an awesome resource. I
also was thinking of possible gag gifts...like a chicken nuggets
box filled with shredded paper (nest).
