The Holy Ghost

Adapted from the August 2005 Friend—

1) Clap the rhythm as you sing.

2) Explain that just as the beat is constant, the Holy Ghost can be our constant companion.

3)  Invite the children to clap  with you as you sing the song again.

4)  Have the children hum as you sing and you all clap the rhythm.

5)  Write the main words of the first two lines on separate pieces of paper (Christ, earth, promised, send, Holy Ghost, comfort)- (use pictures for Jr. Primary)

6) Sing the first two lines of the song as you direct the children to listen for one thing the Holy Ghost does for us.

7) Take responses.

8) Sing it again as children post the words (pictures) in order.

9) Sing the firsts two lines with the children until they know it—taking away words (pictures) as they learn.

10) Repeat this process for the remaining three sections of the song.
