Saturday
A clever way to teach this song from lds.about.com
I made a really fun visual aid for the shampoo line. The first time I did it
I glued cotton balls all over a shower cap. The child would put it on and it
would look like their hair was covered with shampoo. When that wore out I
made one again but this time I took pieces of batting and sewed them onto a
cap - it is more realistic. The kids love it. (Idea by Amy)
I just gathered the items I needed to make my point. My kids learned
this in like two Sundays. (Idea by Melanie Harper)
(Calendar) "Saturday is a special day,"
(Child in Sunday clothes) " it's the day we get ready for Sunday"
(Sponge/mop/duster) "we clean the house"
(Money) "we shop at the store so we won't have to work until Monday"
(Clothes brush) "we brush our clothes
(Cloth/Shoe Polish) "we shine our shoes and we call it our get the
work done day"
(Finger nail clippers) "we trim our nails"
(Shampoo) "we shampoo our hair"
(Child in Sunday clothes) "so we can be ready for Sunday"
