He Died That We Might Live Again

Visual Aids made by Jolly Jen

(Idea from Becky in Florida)  I taught this last Sunday by using "who, what, when, where, why, how" wordstrips posted on the board.  Then I had about a dozen phrases from the song on wordstrips in a mixed up order on the board.  I sang the song and asked them to look for matches.  Then we placed a few and sang it again.  We ran out of time before we were done, but I had their attention the whole time.  This was for the senior primary.

For the junior primary I just asked a question, sang part of the song, asked another question, sang another section, etc.  My main idea for them was to just introduce the four Easter songs we wanted, and that worked well too.  I had considered asked them to whisper sing the song, but our bishopric counselor used that method in opening exercises, so I decided to save it.

Here are some of the phrases I used "on Easter morn" "our Savior and our King" "rejoice, rejoice", "from the grave" "he died" "he rose" "show his love"  Some of the phrases could be placed in multiple spots, which led to a good discussion.
