Follow the Prophet Review Game
by Melanie Edwards

SUPPLIES:

- Clip art pictures of each prophet: Adam, Noah, Nephi, Samuel the Lamanite, Joseph Smith and Gordon B. Hinckley
- Clip art pictures of: Garden, Ark, Jerusalem, The wall, The Golden Plates, Temple
- 30 die cuts of feet
- Spinner with the 6 prophets

PREPARATION:

1. Put a question on each foot die cut:

Was Adam a Bible, Book of Mormon or Latter-day Prophet?

Where did Adam live?

What did he do there?

What is a descendant? Who are his descendants?

What lesson do we learn from Adam?

Was Joseph Smith a Bible, Book of Mormon or Latter-day Prophet?

Who did Joseph Smith see?

When Joseph prayed what did he have that was “great”?

What did Joseph pray to know? What did Jesus say?

What lesson do we learn from Joseph Smith?

Was Nephi a Bible, Book of Mormon or Latter-day Prophet?

What did Nephi try to get?

Who did Nephi dress up as?

What did Nephi know God would do?

What lesson do we learn from Nephi?

Was Samuel a Bible, Book of Mormon or Latter-day Prophet?

What nationality was Samuel born as?

What did Samuel Prophesy?

What did the wicked try to do to Samuel?

What lesson do we learn from Samuel the Lamanite?

Was Noah a Bible, Book of Mormon or Latter-day Prophet?

What did Noah try to cry?

What happened to make the people wish they had listened?

What lesson do we learn from Noah?

Is Gordon B. Hinckley a Bible, Book of Mormon or Latter-day Prophet?

What can you watch to see if the world is confused?

What is wrong with the people in the world today?

Who should we listen to to get direction?

What lessons do we learn from President Hinckley

At one end of the board put the picture of the prophet, at the other the destination picture for that prophet, place the feet evenly between the prophet and the destination.  (Do the same for each prophet...so they are all on one side of the board and the destinations are one the other).

THE GAME:

1. Have a child spin the spinner. Which ever prophet it lands on read the question on the foot in front of the Prophet. The child's class can confer to get the answer. Move the Prophet over the foot when they answer correctly.  (Depending on time you may want to sing the verse once or twice during the game.)  Repeat, until the prophets all reach their destination.

NOTE: One of the things we have discussed is what the message of the prophet is. That corresponds with the last question. We have discussed for Adam, the importance he felt to teach his family the gospel. Then we talked about descendants being family and how today we still think it is important to teach the gospel in our families. That's why we have Family Night and sit together as a family in Sacrament meeting, etc.
