Dare to do Right

(Credit Unknown) - (You need to have two word signs for this: Dare to do right Dare to be true)  Have you ever heard of the game truth or dare?  It is a game you play with your friends and they either ask you a question that you need to tell the truth about, or dare you to do something.  This song dares us to do something. I'm going to sing the chorus of the song and I want you to listen for the two things that we are dared to do.  Did you hear it? Who can tell me what we are dared to do? (Dare to do right; dare to be true)  Who do you think could be daring us to do right and be true? (Heavenly Father, Christ, Sister Young, Bishop, the prophet, etc.)  Ask two teachers from each side of the room to select someone from their class to come hold something for me.  Now we're all going to sing this song together. Split the primary into two groups.  Have one child hold one sign; the other child the other sign.
When I point to the side of the room you are sitting on, you are going to sing the words on the sign. (Tell them that in the chorus they might have to sing *dare* more than once).  Sing the song with the kids and I end up singing the middle parts alone. Don't forget to point.  Switch sides.  Dare them to always do right and always be true.

(Idea by Katie Boeckel) I put together a short little lesson on this and thought I'd share:

(You need to have two word signs for this: Dare to do right Dare to be true)

Have you ever heard of the game truth or dare?

It is a game you play with your friends and they either ask you a question that you need to tell the truth about, or dare you to do something.

This song dares us to do something. I'm going to sing the chorus of the song and I want you to listen for the two things that we are dared to do.

Did you hear it? Who can tell me what we are dared to do? (Dare to do right; dare to be true)

Who do you think could be daring us to do right and be true? (Heavenly Father, Christ, Sister Young, Bishop, the prophet, etc.)

Ask two teachers from each side of the room to select someone from their class to come hold something for me.
