Easter Singing time this Sunday.  I found a nice little article from the Friend that I took this from (I didn't write down the reference, sorry.) I took out a couple of things because I don't want to talk too much, but other than that no words have been changed.  I did add the songs, though.  I really like the way this was written: 

At Christmastime our thoughts and hearts turn to a little Baby born in Bethlehem.  We sing songs about the birth of Jesus. We send cards to each other expressing our joy that He came to earth. We set up nativity scenes with shepherds and Wise Men and Mary and Joseph and Baby Jesus to remind us that Jesus came to this world as a baby and to celebrate this great event.

The birth of a baby is a wonderful thing, but we celebrate the Savior's birth for a very special reason. It has to do with Easter.  Without the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which we celebrate at Easter, no one would celebrate Christmas.

Baby Jesus was the One all the prophets promised would come into the world to be our Savior and Redeemer. He came to earth to show us how to live. He came to earth to die for us so that we could live again with our Father in Heaven. We are so grateful to Jesus Christ for what He did for us that we honor His birth by celebrating Christmas.  With great joy, we also honor His resurrection by celebrating Easter.

There is another day we are going to celebrate: the day when Jesus Christ will return to earth. Hosts of angels will be with Him then, too. The same Jesus who was born in Bethlehem, was crucified, and was resurrected, will come to earth again.

When the Savior comes again, He will bring peace for the nations. He will bring safety and joy for all the righteous. Those who love Him will be prepared to meet Him at that day. We can prepare now by keeping His commandments and by following His example. We can prepare by showing love for others and by listening to the whisperings of the Spirit.

  I have come up with a matching game. I drew 15 tombs on a poster board and attached a stone with a brad over the door. Then I wrote part of a line like "Did Jesus really live again?" Then the matching one would say "Yes, when the third day came." I thought I would teach the song and then play this game. If they do not get a match they have to practice the song. When they get a match they get to pick their own song to sing.  There is one empty tomb. It is supposed to be symbolic. I will probably let them try again if they choose that one. (by Alicia)

  Borrow an Easter basket, and get some of those colorful plastic eggs. Write out some good Easter song names on little slips of paper and put them in the eggs Have the children pick an egg, then sing the song.  Variation- Hide the eggs around the room (don't forget where you hid them!) and have the children take turns hunting for them. Variation- play hide the egg. First have a child leave the room, then have another child pick one of the eggs (it could be a plastic egg with a slip of paper inside with the name of a song or you could have a paper egg with the song name written on it) and hide it somewhere in the room. Have the other child come back into the room and try to find the hidden egg. To help the child find the egg, have the other children in the room sing a song-- loudly when the child is close; softly when the child is far. It may be wise to remind the children to stay reverent even while singing loudly, and set some rules as to how difficultly the note may be hidden (for example, the egg should partially show, or the egg should be hidden in a certain part of the room, etc.)
