Hat Game
Materials:
beanbag
6-8
hats different hats and/or costume(s)
To play:
Lay the hats upside down on the floor with anything else you have for the
costume. Choose a child to toss the beanbag into a hat. (I went
with the hat closest to the landing place if they didn't get it IN one of
the hats). The child then puts on the costume, and you sing in the
fashion that costume represents.
This is an example of what I did with each hat:
Baseball cap: 1/2 of the room pretended to swing a bat and the other
half threw the ball.
Cowboy hat and bandana: Cowboy voices.
Lion:
We growled and clawed in the air.
Pig
nose and pearls: We sang
like Miss Piggy (opera style)
Plastic lei and wrap around skirt: Hula! (Make up hand motions and do
the hula all together).
Hard
hat: We hammered in the air and used jackhammers.
Mouse ears: We
sang quietly.
