Is something missing?
by Jodi Ream

Our focus is activation and missionary work. So when the teachers arrive, set out all the food on the table, but no plates, cups, utensils, etc. Invite them to begin. After a few uncomfortable minutes, someone will ask where things are.

"Is something missing?" you ask.

"Yes! How are we supposed to eat without a plate or drink without a cup?"

"I'm sure you'll be fine..."

Just as your table is incomplete, your Primary is incomplete without all of your children! Finally bring out plates, cups and napkins, each with the name of a child that is missing from your primary written on it.

We are then giving the teachers little "Activation Kits" that will have little cards that will tell the kids how much they have been missed, i.e., "It's been rough not having you with us in Primary" and the o in rough is a little round piece of sand paper; or, "snap, crackle, pop - we missed you a lot" and have a rice crispy treat attached; or "It would be so amazing to see you in Primary" and attach a little toy maze. There's more, but my secretary has the rest and I can't remember them. We don't have many inactives, but enough to be concerned as not to completely lose them.
