for an example of a comment card (by Lisa
(Idea by Lisa Koetsch /

for the past few years is pass out or include with the program are little
comment cards for ward members to write what they liked about the program.
We collect them as everyone is leaving and read them in primary. Our Stake
Primary President is usually there (or a counselor) and she talks to the
children as well.
(Idea by Angela) Last year, we
put an insert in the program asking members of the congregation to write
down their impressions during the program. We collected these after
Sacrament Meeting and read them to the children during sharing time.
It was wonderful. The children loved all the comments and some were so
spiritual. I remember one sister said that the program filled up her heart
so much that it leaked out her eyes. We also got some comments from
non-members who had come to see the program which was nice for the children
to hear as well. It was a nice change from a usual sharing time, the
whole ward participated in a way, and it was non-food.
(Idea by Cindy Tyler) After our program, we have a fun combined
sharing time with all of the children.
We do what a lot of other wards do and put "comment cards" in the bulletin,
so people can write their comments and drop them in the decorated mail box
we put in the foyer that day. For our sharing time, we sing fun songs and
take turns pulling messages out of the mailbox to read. We also have
surprise visitors come in and tell the children how wonderful they are.
Members of the bishopric and stake visitors come in for just a few minutes
to thank the children for their great program and bear testimonies. If our
stake leaders were to ask me what I want from them, I would tell them that I
would like it if the stake primary leaders were able to fit it into their
schedule to come to our sharing time and talk to the children for a few
minutes. I would not want them to bring candy or trinkets; all I would like
is for them to bring their testimonies.
(Idea by Cindee Alexander -
ga09292006) This was the first year we tried the comment cards
for our CSMP. They were printed up and inserted in the Sacrament meeting
program. We only received five cards back. I don't think many people opened
their programs that day, and we didn't have any type of announcement from
the pulpit to draw anyone's attention to the comment card. So anyway,
I just want to suggest to anyone who is planning on trying the comment card
idea, that you ask the bishop to briefly mention it in his opening remarks,
or right before he turns the time over to the primary. The five cards
we did receive were very nice and the children enjoyed hearing the positive
comments the members of our ward shared with them. Our primary president
typed up a very nice summary about what the children have been studying this
year and then the rest of the paper had lines for the person to write their
comments on. This is a general idea of what yours could say:

As a primary we have worked very hard this year to learn, grow and
strengthen our testimonies. We are very pleased to have the
opportunity to share those testimonies with you today. Please take
a moment to share your thoughts and feelings with us about our
program today. There is a basket on the table in the foyer for you
to place the completed cards.
