Prayer is my spiritual telephone
 

Prayer is my spiritual telephone    
which brings God close to me,
the number through which to dial Him,
Is humility on my knees.

My faith in Christ is the connection,
through which must pass the call.
The Holy Ghost is the operator,
who stands beside us all.

My mind and my body are the strength,
which carries my voice to Him.
If not kept clean and well in use,
it rusts and soon breaks in.

Mr. Repentance is the man,
who shows me how to repair.
The line which I have broken,
through abuse and lack of care.

So prayer is my spiritual telephone,
which brings God near to me.
I'm keeping my line in order,
in case He shall call on me.
