Edible Pioneer Wagon
by Lael Feller

From the July 1998 Friend
To make this treat, you will need: 2 marshmallows, a brownie or flat cookie,
a fig cookie cut in half, icing (to use as glue), round candies or small
cookies,
2 dried apricots, black licorice sticks, and animal crackers. Look at the
picture,
then create your own pioneer wagon.
Some additional ideas from myself: You could create this wagon on a paper
plate so that you could use the icing to make the animals stand up straight like
in the picture. Also, it is hard to see the fig newtons in the picture
above...they are below the wheels, but they really aren't needed. You
could also use a granola bar instead of a brownie
MORE IDEAS from
Charlene Moore (ga07182006):
I'm doing the edible wagon but I'm making it a bit
differently. I'm using Vanilla Dreamers. They are a Kroger brand cookie
(kind of like Nutter Butter), marshmallows, white icing, chocolate icing, Honey
Comb cereal, and pretzel sticks.
I put some white icing on a cookie, then I criss-crossed the pretzel sticks for
the axle. Then I glued two marshmallows together with the white icing and glued
them on top of the pretzels. Then I glued on the Honey Comb cereal with the
icing. I thought they looked more like wagon wheels. Then instead of using the
apricots, I used chocolate frosting.

Picture of Edible Wagon....thanks Charlene!
