In our primary room I’ve hidden some clues just for you.  If you want to find it you must follow all the clues.

Reverence is important, for clues are only read

When the room is quiet enough to hear what I say.

All our clues have to do with some very special people.

Listen closely and you’ll learn a wonderful story in these clues.

[You could choose to have the children start by singing "The First Article of Faith" or another primary song.  Choose someone to be in charge of finding the clue.  Have them go out of the room and show everyone where you are putting the first clue.  When the child is let back in, everyone starts singing "The First Article of Faith" (or which ever song you chose beforehand).  When the child gets close to the clue, everyone sings louder (still reverently) and when he/she is far away from the clue, everyone whispers the song. ]

Hide First Clue (Type the following paragraph on the back of the clue and read aloud/discuss once it is found)

Info to go on back of Clue #1:

Adam and Eve were the first man and woman to live on the earth. God blessed them and told them to have children. Adam and Even lived in the Garden of Eden, where they could talk with and see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Talking with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ would sure be nice.  What is something else that we get to do with our beautiful voices in Primary with the help of this great instrument?

(This next clue should be hidden under the piano bench).

Answer = Piano

Info to go on back of Clue #2:

There were many trees in the Garden of Eden. God told Adam and Eve they could eat fruit from all the trees except one: the tree of knowledge of good and evil. “Nevertheless,” the Lord said, “thou mayest choose for thyself….;but remember that I forbid it, for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Moses 3:17….see back of picture for more scriptures).  Besides us, what else is living and growing in this room?

Answer = Plant

Info to go on back of Clue #3:

Satan came to the garden and tempted Eve to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Eve told Satan that the Lord had commanded her and Adam not to eat it or they would be cast out of the garden to die. Satan lied, telling Eve, “Ye shall not surely die”. He also said the fruit would make her wise so she would know good and evil. Eve chose to eat the fruit. Then she gave some fruit to Adam and he also ate. When Adam and Eve heard the voice of the Lord, they hid.  When our Bishop wants to talk to the ward what helps us hear him?

Answer = Microphone

Info to go on back of Clue #4:

When God asked Adam and Eve if they had eaten the forbidden fruit, they confessed that they had. God cast Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden.  This is what we call the FALL  (move the picture of Adam and Even below the picture of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to show they “FELL”).  What do your teachers (and parents) never want you to fall off of?  Where could we find that next clue?

Answer = Bench

Info to go on back of Clue #5:

Some people believe that we will all be punished because Adam and Eve partook of the forbidden fruit. It was revealed to Joseph Smith that this is not true. Can anyone remember which Article of Faith tells us that we will not be punished for Adam’s transgression?

Sing: The Second Article of Faith (pg. 122)

Put up the picture of Adam and Eve with their children. (Gospel Art Kit, Picture 119) What can Sister Jensen read to help her learn about Adam and Eve?

Answer = Scriptures

Info to go on back of Clue #6:

After Adam and Eve were sent out of the Garden of Eden to live the world they worked very hard to provide for the needs of their children. They had many children and taught them the gospel and the ways of the Lord. Who in this room, sitting by you, teaches you many things?

Answer = Your teachers

Info to go on back of Clue #7:

The Lord gave them commandments and they obeyed them. They came to realize the blessing of their family and knew that if they lived worthily they would once again see Heavenly Father and be able to live with him.  Please read: Moses 5:9-12

Sing: Follow the Prophet (page 110), verse 1 (Teach this to the children – sing a few times).

Sing “I Will Follow God’s Plan”, pass around the box or basket with word strips. Stop the music frequently. When the music stops have the children put the word strip under either the picture of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, or under Adam and Eve with their children in the world.

Senior Primary  (if time): Pass around additional word strips to put under the headings: Because of Adam and Eve, and Because of Jesus Christ.

Junior Primary (if there is time): Remind the children that when Adam and Eve left the garden, they taught their children the Gospel – what parents are to teach their children today. Have the children tell about things parents teach, and then have the children suggest a way of portraying these teachings with actions (fold arms for prayer, hold hands like a book for reading scriptures). Use the actions to sing “Do As I’m Doing” (pg. 276).

Both Junior and Senior (if there is time):

Adam and Eve in the Garden

No illness or pain.

All animals living in peace with one another.
