Water Table

Kristen Hudson

If you have a table in the room, one of the most favorite activities of my nursery was water play. I got some plastic 9x13 pans, stuck them to the table (I used double-stick foam tape, but I am sure duct tape would work good too). I could usually fit about 8 on a nursery-sized table--then filled them each with about an inch of water. I put in big droppers/syringes (I had a thousand medicine droppers from home), small medicine cups, plastic spoons, plastic animals (like snakes, lizards, fish, water animals, etc.), etc. and just let them play. If there is a spill, it was never very big due to the small amount of water, and since it was water it didn't matter if they got it on their clothes. I used to do this about once every month. Bring a few towels for clean-up.
