When I was in charge of singing time in Nursery, I created these “Obedient Bees” as an incentive for the children to stay in their seats and to sing. I told them “These are my obedient bees, and they want you to help pick a song, but you have to be obedient first. That means you stay in your chair, try to sing along, and be reverent.” It worked wonders. The children couldn’t wait.

All I did was print out the bees, write the Primary songs on the back of the bees, laminate them, cut them out, and put a little piece of masking tape on the back. I printed the beehive on two pieces of paper, put them each in sheet protectors, and taped them to the inside of an open file folder (easy to store and carry around). I would stick the bees all over the hives, and when a bee was picked, I stuck it to the back side of the file folder (hiding it from the children).

You could also cut out the bees, and put them on craft sticks to use during Primary singing time. Perhaps give them to children sitting reverently during opening exercises, and they get to pick a song during singing time?
