Here is an idea for cute but short Nursery
graduation/completion. This can be done the first Sunday of the year or
the last of the year, either way. We have 11 nursery kids moving to Sunbeams
next year and I'm moving up with them so I figured we should do something with
the parents too.
What I did:
I made graduation caps by hot gluing Styrofoam bowls to square pieces of poster
board (or you could use cardstock... I think it's more expensive though!) Make
sure you glue it to the bottom of the bowls. Then, I got some gold yarn
and made cute little tassels and glued them on the poster board with hot glue
and a button. These turned out super cute and everyone loved them!!
Then - I had them each bring a white button up shirt of their fathers (we asked
for short sleeve but had to use a few long sleeved ones with the sleeves rolled
up) for their gowns! Then - I printed out certificates (I downloaded a
copy to the files section) with each of their names and then had both nursery
leaders and primary president sign them... and presented it to them. Oh -
before we did that, we had frosting and sprinkles and sugar cookies that the
kids were able to decorate and eat as a special treat. Then, once the parents
came in - the kids sang Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam with little suns cut out
from paper plates. And then we did the certificate presentation and the parents
got to decorate some additional cookies with their kids. Everyone seemed
to enjoy it!!
