Ring around the Rosies
 

 

This is definitely a favorite!!  Until a short while ago, I didn't know there were several versions to this song.  Here are a few:

Version 1:

Here is a cute second verse to Ring around the Rosies. After you have fallen down at the end of the first verse, stay sitting or kneeling on the floor in a circle and pat the floor like your hands are marching as you sing this: "The cows are in the meadow eating buttercups."  Then on this line really make some noise by pounding with your hands on the floor like thunder: "Thunder, lightning, we all stand up!!"  Now you're standing and ready to do it all again.

Version 2:

"Jack in the box,
We sit so still-
Won't you jump up?
Yes, I will!"

Version 3:

Ring a ring a rosie
A pocket full of posie
A tissue a tissue
We all fall down

Version 4:

Fishes in the water
Fishes in the sea
We all jump up with a 1..2..3

Version 5:
 
Ashes in the ocean,
Ashes in the sea,
1, 2, 3 and UP pops me!
