Fishin' Around by Becky Holmes
LDS Primary Lesson Helps for Lesson 44
I got the children to put their seats in a circle with seat facing out, and closed them all up to a tight circle.  Then I said" This is the water (spreading/putting a blue blanket in the middle of the circle) and these are the fish (spreading fish made by putting several pieces of colored cardboard paper together, and cutting a fish outline, then writing a name of someone at church or family and taping a fridge magnet piece on back).  Using a fishing line I allocated a chair for the line to rest on and we (standing around the seats got who ever was
there to fish a fish , I called the name.. .Bishop Anderson. I'd say what can we do to help Bishop Anderson at church... no answer...we can pay our tithing. We'd walk around the circle and sing "when we're helping we're happy and we sing as we go cause we like to help [Bishop Anderson] cause we all love him so.  Tra la la la la la la etc...."  Whoever was standing by the line when we finished would have a turn to fish.
(Idea by Lena)
Our children really liked the second enrichment activity in the manual that says, "
If possible, go for a walk to the chapel and show the children where the bishopric (or branch presidency) sits during sacrament meeting. Let the children take turns sitting in the chairs. Then show the children where the bishop’s (or branch president’s) office is."  Because our Nursery is so large we took the children in small groups.  They LOVED sitting where the bishop sits and while we were in the chapel we made sure to always whisper helping the children to remember the importance of being reverent.

Serve pretzel sticks as a snack. Have each child arrange sticks in the shape of a church building on a paper plate.
