Use small "STOP" and "GO" signs to direct the children to stop & go as they circle the room holding hands. Or play red light, green light using the signs. (Rhonda Wall)
Tell the children to skip, hop, run, walk, etc. until you tell them to freeze. When they hear the word freeze, they are to stop in the exact position they are in. Play "Freeze Dance."
Make up a simple maze or obstacle course using chairs, tables, and so forth, for the children to walk over, around, or under. Invite the children to follow you. Then let some of the children have a turn being the leader.
Play one of the pretend stories on the Primary 1 CD and let the children act it out as the dialogue directs. Or play one of the musical sections and let the children have fun following the directions of how to move.
For the review of the story of Noah, hide two sets of animals around the room. Have the children pretend to be Noah and have the children obey the Lord by searching for the hidden animals. I used some inexpensive plastic animals from the dollar store or you could just use clip art. This idea could also be used for the earlier lesson on animals. (Marylynn Lyman)
Get colored paper or felt squares and pretend that they are stepping stones or use footprints. Have the children start at one end of the room and a picture of Jesus at the other end with the stepping stones in between the two. As you talk about the different commandments (see lesson) have the children move one step closer to Jesus. (Marylynn Lyman)

You could play Simon Says....it is a game of obedience.  You could even change it to "Sister ____ says..."  I've also heard of playing Silent Simon Says.  It's like Simon says except if you TELL them to do something (like sit down, or clap your hands, etc.) then they are not suppose to follow, but if you make a silent motion they are suppose to follow. So if I say "stand" they don't move, but if I give the motion to stand they do, etc.



 If ye love me, keep my commandments



 Blessings come from obedience
 If I choose to obey, I'll be happy all day!

 For this lesson, have the children sing The Wise Man and The Foolish Man.  Every time you sing the word "man" have the children stand up....the next time they hear it have them sit down.  Praise them afterwards for being excellent minders...obedient.

 Obedience Story about Wilford Woodruff - I took a 2 page story about Wilford Woodruff learning a painful lesson about obedience and converted it to a 7 page story, with 1 picture per page. I didn't actually have the magazine to scan, so the pictures came from the Church web site. They are too grainy to do full size pages, so I used half size instead (8.5" x 5.5"). After you print the story, you cut the papers in half.  (Idea by Jennie C. / ga01222007)
