Check In
by Becke McDaniel
I teach the darling little Sunbeams and they are very
active. I made a sunbeam with each child's name on it and covered it with
contact paper (you could laminate it) and attached it to a straw. Then I made
two boxes in which they could stand. One box is covered with sunbeams and the
other box is covered with a picture of a chapel. Every Sunday when my little
Sunbeams come to class, they take their personal sunbeam out of the sunbeam box
and place it in the chapel box. We talk about who is here and who isn't here.
They also know that when they leave Sunbeams at the end of December, they will
get to take their personal sunbeam home with them to keep. (This could be adapted and done also in the nursery).
