Applesauce Cinnamon Dough

This idea could be adapted for any lesson.  If teaching about birds and insects, have them create birds and bugs.  If your lesson is on music, make music notes, etc.

You'll Need:

1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup cinnamon
a plastic Ziploc bag
cookie cutters

How to Make It:  Pour applesauce and cinnamon into plastic bag together.  Seal the bag and knead it until the mixture becomes a dough.  (You may need to add more cinnamon to make texture more like a dough).

Update:  Okay guys, I made this the other day with my kids at home.  I would highly recommend you make the dough at home and just bring it ready to use the cookie cutters.  Send home with children and let the parents know that creations should be left to air dry for 12 hours, or until they are hard.  I used a toothpick to create a hole at the top, tied a string in them and made air fresheners for our car.  This dough is fantastic for making Christmas tree ornaments and air fresheners (it smells great!)  Here is a link that has some more hints about this activity:
