Shopping Modestly
On the way out, I gave each of them a Carmel apple
with the following poem attached: The Apple When every pool in Eden was a mirror, And unto Eve her dainty charms proclaimed, She went undraped without a fear and had no need that she should be ashamed. But after she had eaten of the apple, She became inclined to be a prude, And felt that ever more she'd have to grapple, With the much debated problem of the nude. Thereafter she devoted her attention - Her time and all her money to her clothes, T'was the beginning of convention And modesty as well, so I suppose. But a change has come about in fashion recent, Now the girls conceal so little from the men. And it seems that in the name of all that's decent
Someone ought to pass the apples 'round again.

The girls had so much fun - they asked tons of
questions (always good) and answered each other! One note though - being in a public place and with all
the excitement, we managed to get through the activity without an opening or
closing prayer - Afterwards, when everything settled down, my heart sank
because of it. I'm sure it would have gone even smoother had we not
forgotten this crucial element. I guess this is my way of reminding any of
you who might be as absent-minded as me that our activities need to begin
and end with prayer.
