Jesus Christ lived upon the earth.
His teachings and miracles blessed
the lives of the people

Ask the children, "Can anyone tell me what a miracle is?"

Miracles are a gift from God. They are done in the name of Jesus and by His power. Faith comes before a miracle. Before Jesus was born on the earth, He did many miracles. Jesus made the earth and everything on it. He made the sun, moon, and stars too. He saved Noah, his family, and the animals from the great flood. Jesus made the waters of the Red Sea part so the children of Israel could follow Moses out of Egypt and be free. A miracle from Jesus saved Daniel from the hungry lions, helped Jonah live in the stomach of a big fish for three days, and helped Enoch move a mountain.  When Jesus lived on the earth, He did many miracles too.

In advance, invite four adults in your ward/branch to each present one of the following stories as if they had been an observer of the event, using simple props or costumes: feeding the five thousand (
Matt. 14:15–21); raising the daughter of Jairus (Mark 5:21–24, 35–43); the woman who touched His robe (Mark 5:25–34); raising Lazarus (John 11:1–45). Also have the adults share their witness that these stories are true and that their own testimony is strengthened by these accounts from the scriptures.  Have the guest speakers sit randomly throughout your Primary room, waiting for their turn to present.

Help the children imagine
that they lived during the Savior’s time and witnessed some of the events in His life. Before Primary, hide the following wordstrips:

Feeding the Five Thousand
Raising the daughter of Jairus
The woman who touched His robe
Raising Lazarus
“He Sent His Son”
“Beautiful Savior”
“Easter Hosanna”
“Jesus Has Risen”
“I Feel My Savior’s Love”
“This Is My Beloved Son”

Invite a child to locate one of the wordstrips. If it is a song, have the child help the music leader direct it. If it is one of Christ's miracles, have that guest speaker come forward and do their presentation.

ACTIVITY:  Hot Potato - Have the children all sit in a circle and pass around an object (Soft, small ball) while songs like, "I'm trying to be like Jesus" or "Do as I'm doing"  is playing. Have them pass the ball until the music stops and whoever is holding the ball at the time gives an idea of something they can do to follow Jesus' example.  This is something simple enough that even the sunbeams can feel a part of.

SUMMARY:
Conclude with your testimony that miracles also happen today and can bring healing or peace or comfort to the troubled. The greatest miracle is the one expressed in John 3:16. Have the children repeat this scripture with you, then sing “He Sent His Son” (CS, pp. 34–35).

OTHER:

For Senior Primary, you could photo copy the following called, "Miracles" (from April 2006 Friend) and read it together.  Have them stand up as each picture is read.
