Our theme was "My Fair Lady".  We had 3 topics and 3 sisters speak.  Our first speaker spoke to us about the History of Hymns.  It was really interesting and she even had a DVD to illustrate some of the writings and how they came about.  It was very educational.  She just picked one particular writer and then spoke about 3 of the hymns that he wrote.

Our 2nd speaker spoke to us about etiquette.  Not which fork to eat with kind of etiquette, but the every day teach your kids and yourself kind of consideration, manners and etiquette.  Most sisters really enjoyed this.  We talked about phone etiquette and how to teach your children to have manners when you're at other peoples homes and how to remember our please and thank you's and your welcome's to our own family members.  I think we forget to be kind to most family members when asking them to do things and thanking them for doing them.

Our 3rd speakers spoke to us about "Being Happy With You".  This was really fantastic and she covered all bases.  How we tend to berate ourselves and how maybe revenge, self-pity, anger, etc...can just eat at our own contentment and how we need to strive to overcome by remembering the Lord is always with us and through the dark times will come extreme light and peace.  Hard to think of that when you're right in the thick of it.  But very enlightening!  We had finger foods.  Finger sandwiches, veggie platters, cheese and crackers and delicate and pretty cookies for dessert.  It was a really fun evening and the sisters gave me a lot of feedback last night so it was a big hit.
