How to be a 10 cow woman
  by Carrie Hughes

Our meeting was "How to be a 10 cow woman" I started advertising with a poster that I put 10 clip-art cows on and a few hibiscus clip-art pictures. I listed the classes we would be having. I also made cow patties (No-Bake cookies and Haystack cookies for handouts the Sunday before the meeting)

We decorated with some tropical/luau things (because Mahana lived on a tropical island) but did mostly cow decorations. White table cloths, a black square and a cow in the middle and then cows with the food and around the room (we were lucky enough to have a youth member that decorates her room in cows and let us borrow her things).

The food was Hawaiian Haystacks, fruit salad, Cow patties (again no-bakes) and Haystack cookies. Moo Juice (milk) both in regular and chocolate, and lemonade and water were to drink.

We had a huge turnout with many non-members so we had the Relief Society President give an explanation on the Johnny Lingo and Mahana story. I then explained about how at the end her father said he should have gotten ten cows for Mahana instead of eight. that is why we did 10 cows.

The focus was on self-worth and self-esteem. The classes were Udderly Delicious (nutrition), Cow-A-Bunga (physical fitness), Express Mooself (communication) and Mad Cow Disease (mental Health). Our problem came with not having enough time for all the speakers. Our physical fitness person ran over on their time, Our communication person had to leave so he did just a really short exercise, which is such a shame because he is such a fabulous and funny speaker. The Mad Cow person we did last so that he could take as much time to do his as necessary. He didn't want the meeting to go over so he did his in 20 minutes. Such a shame because he had so much useful info.

We did folders for the sisters to put hand-outs in. I put in
Audrey Hepburn's beauty tips and a certificate that the sisters would put stickers on. We make cow stickers and they put 2 on for attending and 2 for each class at the end each woman had 10 cows on her certificate, so she was officially a ten cow woman.

The sisters really seemed to enjoy the meeting, the investigators and non-members had a great time also. We had to set-up an additional table and had no no-bakes or pineapple left. So it went great!
