This past Saturday my stake did a "Super Saturday" and it was so neat. I
thought I'd share this with you (I think it can easily be adapted for an
Enrichment night or ward Super Saturday). The theme was "Home Can Be A
Heaven on Earth." The morning started at 9 am with displays set up in the gym of
various sisters' talents (including crafts, photography, organ playing, etc)
along with homemade breads/muffins and juice. At 9:30, workshops
started. You could attend 3 workshops. The options were:
a) "Paving the High Road to Heaven: Families on the High Road Together"
Our Stake President's wife spoke about ideas to help families begin, continue,
and succeed on the high road.
b) "Heaven of Earth" A high counselor and his wife spoke on how family
time can be fun time and ideas for family fun and creating meaningful
traditions.
c) "Just Like Heaven" A bishop's wife and ward member who is an interior
designer spoke about easy and inexpensive ways to give our homes a peaceful
atmosphere as well as make old things look new and make due with what you have.
d) "A Taste of Heaven" Again, a bishop's wife and ward member co-taught
this class about meal planning, nutrition, and time-saving meal tips.
e) "Craft time" Option to make key/towel holders not only to beautify our
homes, but also to keep them organized! Sisters could pick up the
materials to do this at home.
Each class was about 45 minutes. Then, lunch was served and we had a
speaker, Daryl Hoole (who apparently is a well-known speaker on the topics of
homemaking) give us practical tips as wives and mothers in the home.
