Emotional Health -
Chicken Soup for the Soul
by Laurie Dukes

We all met together for the first class:

Understanding Mood Disorders - Taught by a sister in our ward who is a family practice physician.  She gave an excellent presentation and the sisters asked a lot of questions.  It was apparent that the sisters needed to discuss this, and I'm so glad we had someone who could present it from both a medical and gospel perspective.

After the Mood disorder class, we broke into two groups for these classes:

Basic Massage Techniques - Taught by a sister in our ward who is a licensed massage therapist.  The sisters loved this, especially the lucky ones who got to take a turn getting massaged!  I didn't get to attend since I was teaching the other class, but they all came out of the class looking very relaxed!

De-Stress Kits - We gave each sister a paper bag with a label that said: "Take Time to Enjoy Life's Simple Pleasures."  We made Homemade bath salts and bath sachets to put in the bags, and also added tea-light candles and chocolate (no de-stress kit should be without chocolate!)  There was also a card to put in the bag that listed 10 ways to relax.

Refreshments - We had a simple taster's table with a few crock-pot soups and rolls/butter.
